Well it's over for another year... Xmas 2005. All that hype, and now it will be another year before it all happens again. Hope we find you all safe and well, and that you had a great Xmas with all your Family & Friends. Was Santa kind to you, or were you on his naughty list...

All that's left to do is to finish eating all that food that we thought we would eat on the day. Well that’s going to take us a week or so, or should we just send it to Africa and they will be able to feed a tribe for the next 3 months. Why is it that we think on Xmas day we can eat 10 time the amount of food we can any other day... Do we expect that many people to visit, do we even know that many people.

Well we woke up Xmas morning to sound of a Xmas band singing carols in the park across the road from us. That got our attention, and was a shock to the system, as these guys had amplifier and all that LOAD stuff. What ever happen to the old fashion carolers that used to sing quietly? Well it lasted only 1 ½ hrs, only I say. I did go over to have a look for about 5 minutes, which was enough of this Xmas cheer at 9am Xmas morning. I really think that it should have started at about 11 or maybe 12. Now that seems like a better time to me.. Anyway, there was a whole bunch of people over there enjoying the singing.

We didn’t buy any presents this year for each other, as in Nov we bought our new SUV, then Jude bought about 15 different bottles of perfume on eBay. And the week before Xmas bought one of these Cellular phones that take pictures, videos, has email, and access to the web as well as have voice mail and more things than I would like to think about. OH Yeah!, it also makes phone calls, I think…..

Well I did buy myself a new camera, a Nikon D50 with the 18-55mm lens. I then bought a Nikon 28-200mm lens and a Nikon SB-600 Speedlight flash. So I guess that was my present… Anyway, after buying all that food for Xmas that we didn’t eat, we couldn’t afford anything else. At least I’m on vacation for the next 2 weeks. I still have about 9 weeks owing to me, so I’ll be taking most of them in 2006.

Got a couple of phone calls this morning (26th) from some of our close friends in the States. First was from Lizzie in California, and she was having lunch with Kim, Vince, Ben and Courtney. Now that would have been a great Xmas day lunch with these guys, real fun stuff. It was great to hear from Lizzie since her visit over here with us. Then the Snr Chief Barry and his better half, Janet called from Detroit. It’s always good to get a call from Baz, as we have been close friends for the last 30years. But I’m glad I’m here and he is there, as it’s about 30° C (about 85° F) in Adelaide, and it around 0° C (32°F) and snowing / raining in Detroit. I’m was sitting here in shorts and a tee shirt, and they were rugged up and even wearing long johns to stay warm….. hahahaha.. I know where I would rather be..

Now next, New Years Eve. Once we get past that it starts all over again, another year. 2006 will be a great year, and if I say it long enough I will eventually believe it…

Happy New Year to all……………

Well this is our new number plate, "WIZNSOX"... OH YEAH!!!!... your wondering hey. Well Jude is "WIZ" and I'm "SOX". Dont even go there, it's a long story how we got these nick names, but hey, it looks good on the SUV. Thanks to Lizzie in helping us decide on this name, so blame her if you think it's weird.... hahahaha..;o). But we like it.....

Well, here a couple more photos of our new SUV. We got the vehicle on Friday 4th, and our very close, dear friend, Liz, from Huntington Beach, California arrived on Saturday 5th. Good timing. She was here for only 2 weeks, but we tried to cram as much as we could into that time, and still get some sleep. She had a smile (& a tear or two) on her face when she left, but we're guessing she had a great time while she was here, we certainly did.

Well, here it is, our new car, a Ford Escape. This is the car Jude has wanted for the past year, and finally I had to agree with her that, yes, she was right (she says she is always right), it really was a nice car, well, SUV.
